The presentation is about transportation plans in Switzerland, with the case of Merck Serono in Geneva.
The Merck Serono transportation plan has been developed since 2006 to minimize the negative effects of the lack of parking spaces.
Conscious of creating a real challenge for their employees' mobility habits, the management decided to encourage alternative commuting arrangements through a mobility plan. The final plan was developed on a two-fold basis: a quantitative survey (mapping of staff home addresses and identification of walking, cycling, carpooling and use of public or combined transport possibilities) and a qualitative survey (definition of current means of transport, other daily commute-related issues and interest in switching to more sustainable means of transport).
