Vincent Meerschaert is since 2000 working as mobility expert at Traject, an independent consultancy (11 employees) specialized in Mobility Management. Traject stands for a user oriented approach of transport and mobility and works for different kinds of clients: companies, administrations, regions and industrial zones; public transport companies and regional, national and European authorities.
Relevant experiences as project coordinator of:
- studies and surveys on the organizational framework of home work and business travel e.g. For the Flemish Authority, Traject conducted a survey on the fiscal and financial framework of transport modes. Issues like company cars and the barriers for introducing a mobility budget were examined.
- mobility plans for specific destinations and target groups; In Belgium, Traject has assisted in the development of mobility management for over 40 large individual companies or administrations and 20 complete industrial zones. In France, Traject has carried out a large commuter plan for the 5 most important employers in the centre of Chambéry.
- targeted marketing and communication campaigns for sustainable mobility e.g. Market surveys on public transport, user groups on specific transport products, organisation of car free days ; several targeted promotion campaigns for public transport and car-pooling
- management of mobility centres: In the framework of the international ICARO research project on car-pooling (1997-1998), Traject has implemented the still existing car-pool centre of Brussels. Traject also managed a transport co-ordination centre for home-work traffic in the Belgian Province of Limburg: the Mobidesk. It assists the Flemish public transport company and Provinces in organizing Mobility Centres aimed at home-work mobility in every Flemish Province.
- the development of mobility management in an international context: Traject participated in several European project. Most recently Traject was partner in the MAX-SUCCESS consortium. MAX is the largest research project (2006-2009) on Mobility Management within the EU's sixth framework programme. The MAX consortium served to extend, standardize and improve Mobility Management - it did so in the fields of quality management, campaigns, evaluation, modeling and land use planning.
